This two-day course is designed to highlight the most current techniques and instrumentation in the medical and surgical management of chronic sinusitis, allergic fungal sinusitis, epistaxis and other related disorders. Lab dissections will highlight current step-by-step techniques in FESS and the management of any intraoperative complications. Electromagnetic and Infrared Image guided systems will also be available in the lab for a hands-on trial.
After attending this program, the participant will:
• Become familiar with the endoscopic anatomy of the lateral nasal wall and paranasal sinus drainage pathways.
• Learn the current modifications of Messerklinger's technique and advancements in Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery.
• Become knowledgeable in dealing with complications of FESS including CSF leaks and orbital injuries.
• Become knowledgeable in the recognition of and advances in the treatment of Allergic Fungal Sinusitis.
• Become familiar with endoscopic ligation of the sphenopalatine artery for the treatment of intractable posterior epistaxis.
• Learn how to deal with the frontal recess and intractable frontal sinus disease.
• Become familiar with advances in topical medications for the management of chronic sinusitis.
• Become familiar with balloon sinuplasty for sinusitis.
